Burning Qur’ans and Bridges

Brian Burchik —  February 29, 2012

Tragically, the majority of the “Christian” stories reported in popular media wrongly represent Jesus and his followers.  Whether it’s a church threatening to burn Qur’ans or a crazy man predicting the Apocalypse, the stuff that gets the most buzz is the most negative.

God Is Angry

#LiveFully knows that there are many Jesus followers doing incredible things that contribute to culture and make a difference in the world.  We are convinced that a shift is happening and that God is interested in changing the way His people are represented in society.  The vision of #LiveFully is “to positively change the way followers of Jesus are perceived in mainstream cultures of the world.” Its big, bold, and something that will never happen unless God is continually fueling it.

Over the last 3 months, we’ve been sharing the vision of #LiveFully with many different followers of Jesus – young adults, college students, high schoolers, married couples with children, grandchildren, and and everyone in between.  We’ve yet to meet a single person who did not resonate with the vision. It’s not just that they are on board, but they are hungry to be a part of it.

#LiveFully is committed to celebrating followers of Jesus impacting (not escaping) culture.  This blog will feature weekly stories of people who are compelled by Jesus to impact different spheres of culture. Every Wednesday you will hear from athletes, artists, educators, entertainers, and many others. By celebrating the stories we believe more will be inspired to follow Jesus, get engaged, and use their God-given gifts to positively impact the world.

If you have no clue what it means to live fully, but like the sound of it, then join us! We’ll be defining it every week right here. If you are already living fully, then join us each week and share with us (here or comments) how you or others are impacting culture. #LiveFully
